Summary :
The International Seminar on Vernacular Settlements (ISVS) is a long-running seminar series in the field of Vernacular Architecture and Settlement studies that travels to different parts of the world. The 11th ISVS will be hosted by the School of Environmental Design and Architecture (SEDA) and the Center for Heritage Research, Navrachana University in Vadodara, India on September 30 to October 2, 2022. The conference will include paper presentations by scholars, workshops for students, walking tours, and keynote addresses. The event aims to contribute to the knowledge of vernacular settlements worldwide and showcase their cultural significance and relevance in contemporary times. Additionally, selected papers from the seminar will also be published in the Scopus indexed journal ISVS e-journal. The conference will take place during the nine-day festival of Navratri, where the city of Vadodara celebrates with a dance festival officially known as “the Garba.”
